Monthly Archives: August 2016

The Cookout is always one of my favourite yearly events. It combines my love of hip hop, performance, art, and of course – FOOD! I’m stoked to be a part of this amazing event so come check it out if you can, and stop by my booth for some awesome deals!

The Cookout 2016: Hamilton’s Music & Food Festival is on Saturday, August 27th, at the gorgeous Bay City Music Hall on the waterfront. Everyone’s welcome. 2nd Lineup Announcement: Elzhi(Detroit) has been near the top of the list for best lyricists since his days with Slum Village. Performing live in Hamilton for the 1st time in almost 5 years, in support of the new album, “Lead Poison.” Noah23 is a Canadian OG with one of the deepest & wildest discographies in hip-hop. His latest project, “Unicorn EP,” dropped last month. Darenots are a high energy, 4-person Toronto band that rocks a mix of hip-hop, reggae, & heavier sounds. Expect a very LIVE set from them. AM is the duo of Reid Roses & Elley Jeeze. In our opinion, one of Hamilton’s top talents & best kept secrets. DBLCRSS & Leo are a freshly minted duo that recently dropped a BIG debut single. Representing part of HamOnt’s young generation of musicians.

WHAT ABOUT THE FOOD?!? We are so excited MeatVentures, the princes of pork, the barons of beef, the gurus of the grill, and the CANADIAN BACON CHAMPS are returning to feed us. Our new venue allows for the full menu from the meat-wagon. Joining them is the new local venture, Empania, serving a delicious recipe of Puerto Rican-style empanadias. We will have veggie options no doubt!
